Global Mission

Equal Exchange

A variety of fairly traded goods are available for purchase throughout the year at Holden Lutheran Church. Purchases support farmers in developing nations who typically do not receive fair prices for what they produce. Items available for sale include coffee, chocolate, tea, baking cocoa, and hot chocolate (seasonal).

Fare For All Distribution

Fare For All is a program that supplies fruit, vegetables, and meat for up to 40% less than grocery store prices. Food is ordered ahead of time and delivered to a specified site. Every month, members from Zion Lutheran Church pick up food orders in Onamia, MN and bring them to McGrath for distribution.

Quilting

“Useful for shielding against the cold and rain, and for warm bedding, quilts can also be purposed as simple tents, floor coverings, or a wrap to hold a baby on a mother’s back. In a simple combination of fabric and thread, you reach out to people in their time of greatest need with a strong message of hope – you are not alone.”

Our quilts are also donated locally to shelters, Bible camps, and individuals who’ve experienced the loss of their home to fire.  Of course, we also gift our high school graduates with quilts, to remind them that wherever life may take them, they are wrapped in God’s love.

Community quilters meet the last Thursday of each month at Zion’s hall. There’s always room for anyone who wants to help out. If you don’t know how to make quilts, this group would love to teach you!
